COSMOS IN ITS EXCELLENCE BEAUTY

GARDEN SPRINKLER NABULA IN MAKING; EXCELLENCE OF COSMOS

14th Oct 2012

The Universe is filled with mysterious objects. Many of them are as strange as they are beautiful. Among these, planetary nebulae are probably one of the most fascinating objects to behold in the night sky. No other type of object has such a large variety of shapes and structures. The NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope has recently provided a striking image of Hen 3-1475, a planetary nebula in the making.

Hen 3-1475 is located in the constellation of Sagittarius around 18,000 light-years away from us. The central star is more than 12,000 times as luminous as our sun. Its most characteristic feature is a thick ring of dust around the central star and two S-shaped jets that are emerging from the pole regions of the central star. These jets are long outflows of fast-moving gas travelling at hundreds of kilometers per second. It is like an enormous, slowly rotating garden sprinkler in the middle of the sky. No wonder astronomers also have nicknamed this object the "Garden-sprinkler Nebula."

PEEP INTO EIGHT MILLION YEARS AND REJOICE DIVINITY

Dark Energy Camera Turning Dreams to Reality.

Eight billion years ago, rays of light from distant galaxies began their long journey to Earth. That ancient starlight has now found its way to a mountaintop in Chile, where the newly-constructed Dark Energy Camera, the most powerful sky-mapping machine ever created, has captured and recorded it for the first time. The first pictures of the southern sky were taken by the 570-megapixel camera on Sept. 12, 2012.

The Dark Energy Camera is the most powerful survey instrument of its kind, able to see light from over 100,000 galaxies up to 8 billion light years away in each snapshot.  Is it not something beyond our wildest dreams? Salute all those who marveled it to be created and paved the way for capturing even the infinite space yet to be explored.

The results of this survey will bring us closer to understanding the mystery of dark energy, and what it means for the universe by carrying out four probes of dark energy, studying galaxy clusters, supernovae, the large-scale clumping of galaxies and weak gravitational lensing. This will be the first time all four of these methods will be possible in a single experiment.

Over next five years, the survey will create detailed color images of one-eighth of the sky, or 5,000 square degrees, to discover and measure 300 million galaxies, 100,000 galaxy clusters and 4,000 supernovae. This is unbelievable and yet true.
The results of this survey will bring us closer to understanding the mystery of dark energy, and what it means for the universe.

Diamond Planet at Your Door Steps.

Diamond Planet at Your Door Steps.

Orbiting a star that is visible to the naked eye, astronomers have discovered a planet twice the size of our own made largely out of diamond. which orbits a sun-like star in the constellation of Cancer and is moving so fast that, a year there, lasts a mere 18 hours. It is also incredibly hot, with temperatures on its surface reaching 3,900 degrees Fahrenheit (1,648 Celsius). Diamond planets have been spotted before but this is the first time one has been seen orbiting a sun-like star and studied in such detail.

The surface of this planet is covered in graphite and diamond rather than water and granite. The most significant estimates about this planet is that at least a third of the planet's mass, which is  equivalent of about three Earth masses, could be diamond

Discovered by a U.S.-Franco research team, its radius is twice that of Earth's with a mass eight times greater. That would give it the same density as Earth, although previously observed diamond planets are reckoned to be a lot denser.

This 'diamond-rich super-Earth' Cancri e is about 40 light years, or 230 trillion miles, from Park Avenue. It is just at your door steps. It cannot be any more nearer. Go, get it.

Question;-  The fortune hunters of humanity must be getting evolved somewhere in the spaces womb of future by using yet to be perfected quantum theories to be there and yet to be here concept. Or is there someone who is already perfecting the art to reach there overpowering the daunting environmental hurdles. May be or may not be. Can someone postulate as how to get to diamond planet squeezing 40 light years to look like just 4 days or 4hours simultaneously compacting trillion miles to trillion meters. It may be realm of possibility provided we learn to trans shift ourselves to a world of astronomical standards in our daily use.

General Theory of Relativity Confirms of Dark Matters

All observations in astronomy, are based on light (electromagnetic radiation) emitted from stars and galaxies. According to the general theory of relativity; the light will be affected by gravity. At the same time all interpretations in astronomy are based on the correctness of the theory of relatively, but it has been difficult to accurately test Einstein's theory of gravity on scales larger than the solar system. But in an era with the technological ability it is easier to actually measure such phenomena as cosmological gravitational red shift..

Observations of large distances in the universe are based on measurements of the red shift, which is a phenomenon where the wavelength of the light from distant galaxies is shifted more and more towards the red with greater distance. The red shift indicates how much the universe has expanded from when the light left until it was measured on Earth.

Galaxy clusters are accumulations of thousands of galaxies, held together by their own gravity. This gravity affects the light being sent out into space from the galaxies. The researchers have studied the 8000 galaxies lying in the middle of the galaxy clusters and those lying on the periphery and measured the wavelengths of the light.

They could measure small differences in the red shift of the galaxies and see that the light from galaxies in the middle of a cluster had to 'crawl' out through the gravitational field, while it was easier for the light from the outlying galaxies to emerge. Then they measured the entire galaxy cluster's total mass and with that got the gravitational potential. By using the general theory of relativity they could calculate the gravitational red shift for the different locations of the galaxies.. The analyses of observations of galaxy clusters show that the red shift of the light is proportionally offset in relation to the gravitational influence from the galaxy cluster's gravity thus confirming the theory of relativity.

The main components of the universe is dark energy, which according to the theoretical models acts like a kind of vacuum that causes the expansion of the universe to accelerate. According to the calculations, which are based on Einstein's theory of relativity, dark energy constitutes 72 percent of the structure of the universe.

Now the general theory of relativity has been tested on a cosmological scale and this confirms that the general theory of relativity works and that means that there is a strong indication for the presence of dark energy.

Question';- If generall theory of relativity is true on cosmological scale, then can it be easily applicable in the space of God Particle Bosons?  I am not sure. Can someone enlighten my darkness on this simple issue?

TRAVELLING FASTER THAN LIGHT ; FANCY OR REALITY

12th October 2012.
Einstein's Theory of Special Relativity explains how motion and speed is always relative to the observer's frame of reference. The theory connects measurements of the same physical incident viewed from these different points in a way that depends on the relative velocity of the two observers.

Since the introduction of special relativity there has been much speculation as to whether or not it might be possible to travel faster than the speed of light, noting that there is no substantial evidence to suggest that this is presently feasible with any existing transportation mechanisms.

University's School of Mathematical Sciences however have developed new formulas that allow for travel beyond this limit. Their formulas extend special relativity to a situation where the relative velocity can be infinite, and can be used to describe motion at speeds faster than light.

It is a natural and logical extension of the Einstein Theory of Special Relativity, and produces anticipated formulae without the need for imaginary numbers or complicated physics; the formulas explain how this could be achieved, just how equations of motion might operate in such regimes, should it, however, be proven that motion faster than light is possible

CERN, the European centre for particle physics in Switzerland, suggested that perhaps neutrinos could be accelerated just a very small amount faster than the speed of light; and that made the mathematicians work about how to deal with the issues from both a mathematical and physical perspective.

QUESTION;- There would be spaces in cosmos where it would be possible to travel faster than the speed of light. For example when the black hole attracts the light then at their gravitational zones the speed of light would be many times over its known speed known to human,s subjective vision. Second  most important point to postulate is thar light would cease to behave as light we know, when it crosses the thershold of the speed of light. Thirdly the cardinal factor of speed of light if goes an altered status as postulated by me, then the developed formulas would need serious review in any case. Till then, the grey cells of humanity would infinetly thrive for perfection.

PHYSICS IN PHILOSOPHICAL REALMS

11th Oct 2012-  U.S. physicist David Wineland and France's Serge Haroche  the Nobel Prize winners in Physics  applied one of the most successful theories in physics - quantum mechanics, which for a century has governed the micro-world where even an atom looms large - to objects in the lab.  In the quantum world discovered by Niels Bohr, Erwin Schroedinger and other giants of early 20th-century physics, tiny objects such as electrons can be in two places at once, and can behave as a particle one moment and as a wave the next, depending on how an observer tries to measure it.
In other words, the mere act of observation determines which form they take and even what reality is.It is like a Nano-version of a marble rolling back and forth in a bowl and being on the right side and the left side simultaneously.
In one seminal experiment, they hit atoms - which are huge by quantum standards - with laser light. After a while, the atom would absorb a photon, or light particle, and move. If the scientists turned off the light sooner, the atom remained where it was. If they shined the beam for the right amount of time, the atom would have a 50-50 chance of moving.
In quantum mechanics, this 50-50 chance is called a "superposition," and is best known from the whimsical example, named for the Austrian physicist Schroedinger, of an imaginary cat.
Imagine that a cat is locked in a box with a radioactive atom, Schroedinger said, and that the atom has a 50-50 chance of decaying in one minute. If it decays, it emits a particle that hits a vial of cyanide and releases the poisonous gas, killing the cat. After a minute has passed, is kitty alive or dead? According to "superposition", the atom is in a combined state of intact and decayed, and so is kitty - in a superposition of alive and dead. Only when an observer looks into the box does one of the possibilities - alive or dead - become reality.
The work holds the promise of leading to such new technologies as quantum computers, which would make a conventional laptop, look like an abacus in terms of power and speed.
They would overcome the rapidly approaching limits of miniaturization in silicon-based components by allowing transistors - which can either be on or off in existing machines - the ability to be both on and off at the same time, just as Schroedinger's cat is simultaneously alive and dead. In theory, at least, this would vastly increase the speed at which they carry out calculations.
Imagine a travelling salesman working out the shortest route around town. A traditional computer would try every possible route in sequence and then choose the shortest. A quantum computer would be able to do the calculation in one step.
A quantum computer for your desk, much less your mobile phone, is still many years away: but some of the materials needed to build quantum devices have already been synthesized.  MagiQ in the U.S. and Swiss firm ID Quantique, are already selling quantum cryptography equipment that allows un-hack able communication using the same fundamental theory.
Question;- My query to readers is that how this marvelous discovery of cosmos working in infinitely miniaturization space would impact the humanity to encompass the wonders of the Creator yet to be explored in coming times?  Does it also imply that a certainty is uncertainty at the same moment and if so how do you conceptualize it. Think the imponderables and peep into future.

BLACK HOLES AND SOULS

10th Oct 2012. Today I came across the news that the astronomers have reported the discovery of a remarkable star that orbits the enormous black hole at the center of our Milky Way galaxy in a blistering 11-and-a-half years -- the shortest known orbit of any star near this black hole. The star, known as S0-102, may help astronomers discover whether Albert Einstein was right in his fundamental prediction of how black holes warp space and time.

Before this discovery, astronomers knew of only one star with a very short orbit near the black hole: S0-2, whose orbit is 16 years. (The "S" is for Sagittarius, the constellation containing the galactic center and the black hole).

Black holes, which form out of the collapse of matter, have such high density that nothing can escape their gravitational pull, not even light. They cannot be seen directly, but their influence on nearby stars is visible and provides a signature.

Einstein's theory of general relativity predicts that mass distorts space and time and therefore not only slows down the flow of time but also stretches or shrinks distances.
Today, Einstein is in every iPhone, because the GPS system would not work without his theory.

The fact that stars that are so close to the black hole is phenomenal. Now it's a whole new ballgame, in terms of the kinds of experiments we can do to understand how black holes grow over time, the role supermassive black holes play in the center of galaxies, and whether Einstein's theory of general relativity is valid near a black hole, where this theory has never been tested before. It's exciting to now have a means to open up this window.
It is also astonishing to know that there are at least 400 black stars in a cluster which is 11 billions light years away whose presence have been detected with a cutting edge infra red teleccope penterating fierccely swirling gaint clouds of thick dust.  The zoo of these black holes contains a monster of a black hole that has more than 10 billions times the mass of the Sun.
All that makes us to muse as what of these black holes have their element in creation of the souls and mind of the Humanity.
